The Big Parade of the year out here in the desert is the Fiesta Bowl
Parade held in downtown Phoenix during New Years holiday. As far as I know we had the very
first MFT in the parade ever. But there will be more, gaited horses are just getting
discovered in cowboy country.
First, my attraction to foxtrotters was a gorgeous Palomino at Larry's
Stables in Missouri (Codypuzzle). I came out to Missouri and met so many wonderful people
- Susanfxtrt and Deinaw319 and ALL their horses were so easy to get along with. Every
single MFT had this amazing personality of sweetness that I fell in love with the Missouri
Fox Trotter.
Our mare, StarDancer, had to put up with all the trappings flapping all
over her and her rider dressed in strange large blanket-like things. Then there was all
the noise, confusion and the spangley scary things following us down the parade route. She
took all this just great!! We got many comments on how our horse moved
"different" and the envious looks at how smooth she traveled.
Bet there are lots more Missouri Fox Trotters in the parade next year.
