HOME IS WHERE THE CHUCK WAGON IS
By Jerry A. White

To the cowhand the chuckwagon was home
Its usually not to far from the herd
Rolling up ahead alone.

That’s where the Cowboy kept his slicker,
That’s where his bedroll stays,
Its where he comes for grub,
and where his extra horses graze.

Now there’s drinkin’ water at the chuckwagon,
There’s medicine for his cough,
The chuckwagon usually where he was hired on,
And usually where he was paid off.
