To the pen each morning, the
first horse that he brings
is usually a favorite that's catching on to
things.
He moves quiet, he moves slow,
each move has a purpose the horse seems to
know.
They understand each cue and the message it
sends.
To the left, to the right, as the bond begins.
From the saddle he shows there
is nothing to fear.
Follow their nose and they'll learn to steer.
He trots circle after circle, they slide, they
spin.
Over and over they practice, again and again.
Back to round and round they
go,
the moves are now beginning to f low,
He rates'em up, he slows'em down
stop, back, round and round.
All of the effort that he puts
in
is not merely measured by the judge in the pen.
Ribbons and buckles are all very fine,
but a good home for each horse is what's on his
mind.
A gentle touch and a job to do
are things that will keep your horse honest and
true.
