  • Ease the cramps of COLIC
  • Soothe the sick horse and keep him drinking
  • Calm the nervous or frightened horse
  • Relieve travel, fatigue and performance stress
  • Further the bond of friendship and communication

Whether the viewer is 7 years old or 70, a first time horse owner or experienced trainer, these methods will work for you.  Be prepared for horse emergencies, learn Hands-On Care!!

Your horse is colicking and you are waiting on the vet.  There are some actions you can take that can improve your horse’s situation.  The video was easy enough for me to understand.  The presenter is a cheerful, fun person who is very knowledgeable in these methods…enough so that she can present the information so you can use it.  Her first live demonstration horse has never had these methods used on him before, so you can see how your horse might react.  The 2nd demonstration horse is used to these methods, and makes a good subject for some other hands-on demonstrations that need to be presented.

There are many things done in this video that you can use on your horse to alleviate pain of colic.  It was just two weeks ago that I called the vet on a Sunday for Sage.   She was suffering from mild colic.  I had to wait 45 minutes and during that time, my friend and I applied some acupuncture and touch pressure to Sage.  However, I had not seen this video then.  I discovered that some of my techniques were incorrect.  I learned many other things that I could have done while waiting for the vet.  I’ll be better prepared next time (Sage was cured by a pain reliever shot, thank GOD!)

There are also demonstrations of how to relax your horse.  Some of these things can be done while you are astride your horse.  If you are on the trail and your horse is afraid, you can just reach down and press on certain spots or take other actions that will make your horse’s neck relax.  This could also work for pre-performance anxiety etc.
