Starshine
Bob and Colleen purchased Starlight L from Ernie and Faye Long of Liberty, Missouri.
She was a three year old mare out of Little Charley and a Golden Rebel T mare.
This was the first mare that Bob and Colleen purchased together after their marriage.
Starlight became Colleen’s horse and taught their daughters, Amy and Amber, to ride. In 1972, Starlight foaled a sorrel filly, Starshine, out of Duke the Commander.
Starshine placed second in the first foal futurity at Ava in 1972 and came back the next year and won the blue ribbon.
She is a member of the Hall of Fame at Ava. Starshine produced a stud colt for Jerry and Shirley Shreyer of California 20 years later that came to Ava and won the same class.
