Pirate's Stardust V.S.

Pirate’s Stardust V.S. (98-57283) is sired by Chief’s Iron Pirate, 2000 World Grand Champion Senior Model. Her dam, Cap’s Stardust, was an own daughter of 1972 3 year old World Champion Stallion, Zane’s Cap-A-Lot.

We purchased Stardust in 2005 from George and JoAnn Becker. We had gone down to look for a new trail horse for Colleen and Stardust was one of the mares they showed us. At the time she was 7 months pregnant, but she did a beautiful, stylish foxtrot. We left that day having purchased a different horse, but spent the 6 hour ride home talking about the “gray mare.” Amber and Colleen had talked for a year or so about getting back into breeding and Amber was interested in trying the show ring. We knew Stardust would be the perfect addition to accomplish both those dreams. The next Monday, Amber called and bought Stardust.

Stardust was shown as a two year old, placing 2nd in her preliminary class and 4th in the Championship class at the National Breeders Cup show and 5th in the 2 year old World Grand Championship class at the Fall Show and Celebration.

We are extremely excited about Stardust’s 2006 filly, Playboy’s Cheyenne Lady. Cheyenne was sired by 2006 World Grand Champion, Southern Playboy, and looks to have tons of rhythm and a great foxtrot. She is currently being started under saddle and we hope she will make her debut in the showring in 2009.

In 2007, Stardust re-entered the showring. Stardust and Amber were very successful, winning many blues at shows around the Kansas City area. They also placed 4th in the Amateur Mares class at the Missouri State Fair. Not bad for Amber’s first year showing and Stardust’s first time in the show ring in 7 years.

The 2008 show season is now over and what a year it was!
